November 2022 Issue #2
Message From The CEO
Brittney Gaffney-Butler
WOW, what a year! We have overcome so many obstacles together as a country and although we still have a ways to go, I can honestly say that if we haven’t learned anything else this past year, we have learned that WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER. Life has and will continue to throw us curveball balls however we must continue to persevere amid whatever comes our way.
In today’s ever changing world, we must be willing to adapt. As the CEO of Healthy Travel Staffing Agency and a fellow RN, doing what I love has given me satisfaction amid tumultuous times because I love what I do. I also prioritize time with my family, meditate daily, and exercise at least 4 times a week. I consider myself to be a foodie and I add fruits and vegetables to every meal or replace a meal with a smoothie! What do you prioritize to keep you motivated and able to be your best self?
So many of us gained hobbies during the pandemic and surprisingly mine became cardio and weightlifting! Taking care of our bodies allows for us build positive daily habits, set goals, and celebrate personal wins. Our bodies are our vessels and we must take care of them in order to be the best versions of ourselves to help others. Over the years, I’ve found some tips that I feel can help traveling healthcare professionals and I would like to share them with you so that you’re able to travel confidently.
Tips for Traveling HealthCare Professionals
Make sure you have read and understand your contract in its entirety prior to signing the contract.
It's ok to travel far away from home because being flexible opens more opportunities. Take family pictures with you and create a schedule for yourself to continue healthy habits.
Make sure that you familiarize yourself with the facility and city that you will be working in prior to your arrival. Ensure your hotel is near a grocery store and has some walkability.
Always remember that you may not like the facility that you are working in, however its only temporary. Finish it out and think of it as only 18-36 days of working but never compromise your license or mental health.
Try and make the most of your free time. Explore the city on your off days and ask for recommendations of restaurants or historic city sites.
I appreciate each one of you. As we enter the holiday season, it is my hope that you and your family enjoy the holidays safely and surrounded by lots of love.
